Spring Sports Registration


Youth Flag Football

Y flag football provides children with a safe and fulfilling introduction to flag football. This league introduces new skills, enhances abilities, and teaches the rules of the sport. Players will have one practice a week and games on Sunday afternoons.

  • WHO: All kids in grades 1-8
  • WHERE: Charlottesville City & Albemarle Co. fields
  • WHEN: March 29 - May 16
  • FEE: $100 for Brooks Family Y members; $140 for non-members

Financial assistance available.

REGISTRATION: Open until March 12.

Spots are available on a first-come, first served basis. If your grade level is full, signing up for our wait list will help us gauge interest.


Little Rushers Flag Football

Little Rushers provide kindergarteners the chance to learn the foundations of flag football in a fun and fulling way. This program is led by Y staff and there is no practice during the week, but games and practices rolled into one on Sundays.

  • WHO: Kindergarteners
  • WHERE: Charlottesville City & Albemarle Co. fields
  • WHEN: April 11 - May 16
  • FEE: $65 for Brooks Family Y members; $95 for non-members

Financial assistance available.

REGISTRATION: Open until March 12.


Little Kickers Soccer

Our Little Kickers program introduces soccer in a fun and exciting way, by introducing fun games with a soccer-related twist! This program is led by Y staff. Clinics are held Saturday mornings at area fields.

  • WHO: 3-6 year olds (broken up by age)
  • WHERE: Charlottesville City & Albemarle Co. fields
  • WHEN: April 10 - May 15
  • FEE: $65 for Brooks Family Y members; $95 for non-members

Financial assistance available.

REGISTRATION: Open until March 26.

 


Brooks Y Basketball Court Reservations


  • Reservations are required.
  • Reservations open 48 hours in advance. 
  • Please bring your own ball / equipment. 


About Basketball

  • Basketball reservations are only for shooting hoops. Pickup basketball games are not allowed.
  • There will be 2 people per reservation time.
  • Please bring your own ball.

About Pickleball 

  • Pickleball is every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 11am-1pm.
  • Please bring your own ball and paddle. Balls and paddles will not be provided by the Y.
  • Masks are recommended but not required.
  • A net has been set aside in the gym for your use. Please move the net over to the side at the conclusion of Pickleball.
  • We have 10 slots open per hour.
  • Pickleball cannot start 15 minutes early or run 15 minutes late.

 


COVID-19 Youth Sports Rules & Handbook

  • Limit of 1 spectator per player
  • Please arrive only 5 minutes before start time. You must wait in your vehicle before the game.
  • Players are to get their temperature taken before entering the gym for practices and games.
  • Masks are required for everyone at all times except for players while playing on the court. Players must wear masks while on the sideline.
  • Please keep 10 feet of social distance from others when possible.
  • Apply hand sanitizer upon entering the gym.
  • No snacks or high-fives.
