Brooks Y Basketball & Pickleball Reservations


  • Reservations are required.
  • Reservations open 48 hours in advance. 
  • Please bring your own ball / equipment. 


More About Basketball

  • Basketball reservations are only for shooting hoops. Pickup basketball games are not allowed.
  • There will be 2 people per reservation time.
  • Please bring your own ball.

More About Pickleball 

  • Pickleball is every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 9-11am.
  • Please bring your own ball and paddle. Balls and paddles will not be provided by the Y.
  • Masks are recommended but not required.
  • Side A of the basketball gym is reserved for Pickleball and Side B is for camp. Side A will enable folks to use one court. A net has been set aside in the gym for your use. Please move the net over to the side at the conclusion of Pickleball.
  • We have 4 slots open per hour. We ask that pickleball begin at the top of the hour and end at the top of the hour so the next group of 4 can come on. 
  • Pickleball cannot start 15 minutes early or run 15 minutes late.
 

Fall Sports


Youth Soccer Clinics

This program introduces children to the basics of soccer and builds skills in a fun and inviting environment. We encourage parents to be actively involved as you and your child learn new skills, run through drills, and have fun together! We emphasize learning, confidence-building, and socialization, not winning or competition. Kids will start each session with structured learning time and practice, followed by a small scrimmage.

  • WHO: Co-ed, ages 3-6
  • WHERE: Charlottesville & Albemarle Fields
  • WHEN: Saturdays, September 19 – October 24
  • FEE: $65 for Brooks Family Y members; $95 for non-members.

Financial assistance available.

Homeschool YMCA Physical Education (HYPE)

Expand your circle of friends by joining the Brooks Homeschool YMCA Physical Education (HYPE) program! All kids ages 5-12 are welcome to join (kids are separated into age groups). We learn fun games while working on teamwork and other social skills! 

While we normally meet in the Brooks YMCA basketball gym, this fall we will be using some of the outdoor areas around Brooks to practice social distancing related to COVID-19. Some classes may be indoors while some will be outdoors. We will communicate all information to parents ahead of time.

  • WHO: All kids ages 5-12 (kids separated into age groups)
  • WHERE: Brooks Family YMCA (indoor & outdoor spaces)
  • WHEN: Tuesdays 1-2 pm, September 8 – November 23 (12 weeks) 
  • FEE: $45 for Brooks Family Y members; $65 for non-members.

Financial assistance available.

REGISTRATION: Open until August 21.


Youth Basketball


Little Dribblers

Little Dribblers basketball provides children with an introduction to the sport in the best possible environment. This league introduces new skills, enhances existing abilities, and teaches the rules of the sport. The program will run on Saturdays from 8-9am at Brooks. Little Dribblers is designed as a 20-30 minute practice followed by 15 minute scrimmage led by Y staff.

WHO: all kids ages 5-6

WHERE: Brooks YMCA

WHEN: Saturdays, January 9 - February 13

FEE: $65 for Brooks Family Y members; $95 for non-members


Jr. NBA

YMCA basketball provides children with an introduction to the sport in the best possible environment. This league introduces new skills, enhances existing abilities, and teaches the rules of the sport. Players will have one weekday practice which will be set by coaches after registration. Games will be played on Saturdays. 

WHO: all kids, grades 1- 6 

WHERE: Brooks YMCA

WHEN: Practices start January 4, games conclude in mid-March

FEE: $120 for Brooks Family Y members; $160 for non-members
