Our YMCA Flag Football league is designed to introduce boys and girls (rising kindergarten-10th grade) to the fundamental elements of football in a fun, instructional and safe environment. From the moment your child steps on the field, our program is designed to assist each player with the advancement of their individual skill level and football knowledge while enhancing their level of play in a fun and structured environment. Our YMCA Flag Football League is a proud member of the USA Football Association. Each participant will receive a NFL branded jersey, a flag belt, and a USA Football Membership!

Boys and girls are welcome to play in this co-ed league. The league is offered to rising kindergarten-10th graders (fall 2018).


Practices begin the week of August 20, 2018.
Games run September 7-October 27 and are played on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings.


Practices will take place at Albemarle County and City of Charlottesville fields. Games will be held at The Park, UVA North Grounds.


Practices are set by coaches in mid-August. Practices are held 1-2 evenings per week. Pratice times are 1 hour and typically between 5:30-7:30pm timeframe.
$120 Y Members; $160 non-members
Financial assistance is availabe to YMCA members. Financial assistance deadline is July 23, 2018.



Registration is open May 18, 2018 - August 6, 2018.

When registering, you will have the opportunity to make a team or coach request. While we will do our best to honor requests, we cannot guarantee any team placement. Teams are formed based on the child's grade and home address. Players are not permitted to play up or down their age group or division. Refunds are not issued unless the program is cancelled or a player suffers an injury prior to games beginning.

We are looking for volunteer head and assistant coaches. Without voluteers, our program cannot be successful! You can complete a volunteer application here.
