In partnership with Charlottesville City Schools, Y-USA and BellXcel, Piedmont Family YMCA is excited to offer Power Scholars Academy this summer in Charlottesville. Power Scholars Academy is an invitation-only, 4-week, full-day summer enrichment program. The program combines LEARNING and FUN in a camp-like experience while supporting the academic, physical and emotional development of youth. 

Through the generous support of our partners, students can participate in this program for FREE. If your child is eligible for the program, you will receive an invitation from your child's principal.

The Power Scholars Academy is licensed by the State of Virginia and is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for the growth and development of your child. Following a unique year, we want this to be a summer your child will never forget!

 

CCS POWER SCHOLARS ACADEMY 2022

  • For rising first graders through rising sixth graders (invitation-only, for select students)
  • June 22 (Wed) - July 15 (closed July 4)
    • 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday (full day program)
    • Before- and after-care available: 7:30-8:30 am, 4:30-5:30 pm
  • Charlottesville City Schools instruction in reading, writing, and math (M-Th morning)
  • YMCA enrichment activities including STEM, art, and play (M-Th afternoon + all day Friday)
  • Breakfast, lunch, and snack included
  • Transportation provided
  • Weekly field trips

  • BURNLEY-MORAN ELEMENTARY for Clark and Burnley-Moran students
  • JOHNSON ELEMENTARY for Jackson-Via and Johnson students
  • VENABLE ELEMENTARY for Greenbrier and Venable students
  • WALKER UPPER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL for Walker students

REGISTRATION

Registration for CCS Power Scholars Academy will be open until May 5, 2022.
Please register your child as soon as possible after receiving an invitation to participate from your child's school principal.
 

  • IF YOU PREVIOUSLY MADE A RESERVATION in a YMCA program through CampDoc, please sign in to your existing account to register your child for this program.

  • If you are NEW to Piedmont YMCA CampDoc, when you visit the link below you will need to sign up for a new account, register for this program and submit required documents. 

  • NOTE: you may complete CampDoc registration using a mobile device if you wish. You may upload photos of required documents.
