Summer Academy is an invitation-only summer program to boost academic + other skills

In partnership with Charlottesville City Schools, the Piedmont Family YMCA is excited to offer an extended-day camp as part of Summer Academy this summer in Charlottesville, VA! Summer Academy is an invitation-only, 4-week, full-day summer enrichment program. The program combines LEARNING and FUN in a camp-like experience while supporting the academic, physical and emotional development of youth.

If your child is eligible for the Summer Academy program, you will receive an invitation from your child's principal.

With each afternoon and Friday packed with games, enrichment activities, and more, we will have so much fun at YMCA Summer Academy extended day camp! Charlottesville City Schools students will love having this add-on YMCA camp to round out the week after Monday-Thursday morning summer academy instruction. Through the generous support of Charlottesville City Schools, students can participate in YMCA extended-day camp for FREE up to a family income threshold of $75,001.

YMCA Summer Academy Extended-Day Camp is licensed by the State of Virginia and is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for the growth and development of your child.
