Registration for 2026-27 Afterschool opens May 4

A safe, nurturing place to learn, play, and grow after the school day ends

The Piedmont Family YMCA is partnering with the Charlottesville Early Learning Center (CELC) to provide high-quality afterschool care for CELC students. This program serves potty-trained four/five-year-olds, supporting working parents and families by offering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment at the end of the school day.

Using the STREAMin3 curriculum, the YMCA After School program emphasizes enriching, hands-on activities that promote learning and development. Care is available each day that school is in session, beginning at dismissal and continuing until 5:30pm.

Weekly Rate

We provide financial assistance for families in our After School program through our sliding-scale fees. All fees except the highest level are subsidized by the YMCA.

  • A non-refundable fee of $100 per child will be due at registration.
  • There is a 10% sibling discount on the weekly rate.

Virginia DSS Child Care Assistance

All our licensed child care programs, including YMCA After School, accept Virginia DSS Child Care Assistance aimed at helping parents who qualify to afford child care. If your annual household income is less than $60,000, you qualify for free or reduced childcare. Other families may qualify depending on family size.

Spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so families are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

Please note: all paperwork must be complete and reviewed and approved by YMCA staff before a student may attend After School.
